What We Believe . . . .

The Bible is the inspired word of God. It is a revelation from God to man of His character, nature, and will. (2 Timothy 3:15-17; 1 Peter 1:23-25; Hebrews 4:12)

There is one true God, triune in nature, composed of three separate and distinct personalities, The Father, The Son (Jesus Christ), and the Holy Spirit, existing as one, singular Entity, perfect, holy and eternal. (John 1:1-5, 10-14; Matthew 28:18-20)

Man was created good, upright and holy, but because of Adam's transgression against God, the sin nature and spiritual death have been passed on to all humanity. Man's only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ, the Son of God. (Genesis 1:26-31, 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21; John 3:3 & 16;)

Salvation and redemption only come through the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Man can only receive this salvation and redemption through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. (Romans 3:24; John 3:3, 16; Romans 10:8-10; Ephesians 2:8)

The ordinance of water baptism is a vitally important aspect of a Christian's life and is a part of what Jesus commanded that believers observe. (Matthew 28:19; Romans 6:4; Acts 10:47-48)

Communion (the Lord's Supper) is to be practiced in recognition of Jesus' sacrifice for us. (1 Corinthians 11:24-26)

All Christians are entitled to, and should earnestly seek, the Promise of the Father, the Baptism in the Holy Spirit according to the command of our Lord Jesus Christ (Luke 24:49; Acts 1:4-5; Acts 2:38). With this Baptism comes the endowment of power for life and service, the bestowment of the Gifts of the Spirit and their uses in the work of the ministry (Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:7-11). This wonderful experience is distinct from and subsequent to the experience of the new birth. (Acts 2:38; 10:44-46; 11:14-16)

Divine healing is provided through the sacrificial work of Jesus Christ and is appropriated by faith in Jesus and the work He has completed. (1 Peter 2:24; Matthew 8:16-17; Isaiah 53:4-5)

All Christians have been commissioned by Jesus to continue the work He began on earth. (John 14:12; Mark 16:17-18)

The true Church is composed of everyone who has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Each member of the Church has a specific and unique call of God for service and ministry to the body of Christ and for reaching the lost. (Ephesians 1:17-23; 2:19-22; 4:7-12; 1 Corinthians 12:12-28)

Jesus is coming again to gather all His Saints to be with Him forever. (1 Corinthians 15:51-52; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

Those who have rejected the redemptive work of Jesus Christ will suffer eternal separation from the Godhead. The devil and his angels, the beast and the false prophet, and anyone whose name is not found written in the Book of Life, shall be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake of fire. This is the second death. (Revelation 19:20; 20:1-5)

About Pastor Jim Martin . . . .

Jim Martin was born on September 29, 1956 and raised by Christian parents who were committed to the Lord and very involved in their Southern Baptist church. As Jim puts it, “We were there every time the doors were open, and sometimes mom and dad opened the doors!” Jim learned from an early age that Jesus died on the cross for the sins of mankind and that He is the only way to salvation.

In 1981 Jim met his future wife Kathy and they began attending a Full Gospel church. It was in early 1982 that Jim not only got married, but was also filled with the Holy Spirit. He and Kathy became very involved in their church, teaching in children’s classes, working with the teens and single adults, and helping in many other areas. Eventually, Jim was hired to work full-time at the church.

In the late 80’s, Jim began to pray about the call God had on his life. He recognized that this call was to preach the gospel and so he began meeting with his pastor to discuss the direction God was leading him. At this time, Jim and Kathy were attending a church in the Church of God (Cleveland, TN) and he obtained ministry credentials in that denomination. On June 1, 1994, Jim began his first pastorate at the Springboro Church of God in Springboro, Ohio.

Shortly after that, God began speaking to Jim about returning to college to get an advanced degree. Although Jim did not understand the purpose for this at the time, he obeyed and enrolled at an Ohio extension campus of Life Christian University (LCU). By 1999 he earned a Master’s Degree in Pastoral Ministry and a PhD in Christian Theology.

February 21, 1999 brought a major change as Jim began pastoring what was then Harvest Church in Beavercreek, Ohio. The church changed its name in 2001 to Grace Christian Center, a non-denominational, Full-Gospel church.

While Jim was attending LCU God started dealing with him about a radically different approach concerning Christian colleges and universities. Over time this plan became more and more clear and in September 2001, Jim obeyed the Lord and opened Grace Ministries Bible College. GMBC is one of the most unique Bible colleges in existence. Per the Lord’s instructions, students are not charged for tuition or text books, making it possible for any Christian to attend without encountering financial hardship. On-campus and correspondence students throughout the US and other nations are now reaping the benefits of what God is doing through GMBC and the courses it offers.

In September, 2002 Jim began a radio ministry in Dayton on WGNZ (1110 AM). This program airs Monday through Friday, 8:30-9:00 AM and Saturdays, 2:00-2:30 PM. Jim also writes a monthly teaching letter that is available free of charge and has an extensive catalogue of teaching series. At the ministry website, all sermons are available for listening or download at no charge. In 2009, Grace Christian Center began broadcasting all services live over the internet from it's website. Jim states, “When I sit back and think of everything God has done in my life, I am absolutely amazed. I know that God is going to fill the future with that which is exceedingly, abundantly beyond anything I could design for myself!"
