A few days ago our nation took some time to celebrate the birthday of the United States of America and, to many people, the birth of freedom. As I thought about our concept of “one nation, under God,” I began to consider just exactly what it is we call freedom.

The typical concept of freedom is, in this country, quite interesting. The very term has taken on a very unique meaning. We have used “freedom” to free ourselves from the very One who created freedom, Who is the personification of freedom and in Whom alone freedom can be found. It seems as though our society continues to claim more and more of this “freedom” with each passing day. Let’s look for a moment at some of the “freedoms” we’ve gained over the past 30 years:

» We’ve freed our children from prayer and Bible reading in school.

» We’ve freed ourselves from the restraints of morality and censorship so we are now liberated to use filthy language in music and watch pornography in the comfort of our own homes.

» We’ve freed our public buildings and courthouses from displaying the Ten Commandments and Christmas manger scenes.

» We’ve freed couples from the commitments they made at the marriage altar by allowing them to divorce for basically any reason.

» We’ve freed our teenagers from the horrible bondage of accountability to their parents by making birth control and abortions accessible on demand.

» We’ve freed mothers from the responsibility of raising a child, giving them the liberty to murder their baby before it is born.

» We’ve freed people from the terribly restrictive, biblical command that marriage is between a man and a woman; now, men can marry men and women can marry women.

What is so interesting is that the more we’ve gained these new “freedoms,” the more we’ve actually slipped further and further into bondage. God has warned us…

There is a way that seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.    (Proverbs 16:25)

How true this is! People cry out for freedom to do as they please but then can’t seem to figure out why we have so many problems in our society. God explains this even further:

The way of the wicked is as darkness: they know not at what they stumble.    (Proverbs 4:19)

People are stumbling in darkness, blinded by their ever-increasing “freedoms.” In Jeremiah 38, God spoke through the prophet Jeremiah and told King Zedekiah how Judah could be free from bondage. Instead, Zedekiah sought freedom his own way and the results were horribly tragic.

Then the king of Babylon slew the sons of Zedekiah in Riblah before his eyes: also the king of Babylon slew all the nobles of Judah. Moreover he put out Zedekiah's eyes, and bound him with chains, to carry him to Babylon.    (Jeremiah 39:6-7)

Our nation has become a Zedekiah. We’ve done what Nehemiah 5:5 describes: “…lo, we bring into bondage our sons and our daughters…” Our “freedoms” have taken us to Ezekiel 7:23, “Make a chain: for the land is full of bloody crimes, and the city is full of violence.” Even more so, I believe Isaiah prophesied a description of our country,

But your iniquities have separated between you and your God, and your sins have hid his face from you, that he will not hear. For your hands are defiled with blood, and your fingers with iniquity; your lips have spoken lies, your tongue hath muttered perverseness. None calleth for justice, nor any pleadeth for truth: they trust in vanity, and speak lies; they conceive mischief, and bring forth iniquity.

Their feet run to evil, and they make haste to shed innocent blood: their thoughts are thoughts of iniquity; wasting and destruction are in their paths. The way of peace they know not; and there is no judgment in their goings: they have made them crooked paths: whosoever goeth therein shall not know peace.    (Isaiah 59:2-4, 7-8)

I personally believe that the current financial conditions are a direct result of all the sin that has been so blatantly released in our society.

There is no question the United States is in the worst condition in its history. Even so, there is still hope. God said in Isaiah 60:1-2, “Arise, shine; for they light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and His glory shall be seen upon thee.” Even with darkness and bondage all around us, we can be free in the light of God’s glory.

In Numbers 5:19 we read, “…be thou free from this bitter water that causeth the curse.” Then, in John 4:14, Jesus said,”But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into eternal life.” Though our nation has been drinking, bathing and swimming in the waters that cause the curse, you and I can still drink from the sweet, living water of life and freedom offered by Jesus.

Look closely at the following conversation Jesus had with some Jews in John 8:31-36,

Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed; and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. They answered him, We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free? Jesus answered them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed.

Jesus told them they were in bondage because of their sin. They denied it because they were blinded and in darkness. Jesus also said knowing the truth; not just hearing, but knowing; would make them free. He went on to tell them that if He made them free, they would be free indeed.

You see, true freedom was not born on July 4, 1776. True freedom was born 2,000 years ago in Bethlehem. Only Jesus has the ability to give us freedom that transcends state and national borders. It is a freedom that penetrates to the very heart of a person. In Galatians 3:13 we’re told, “Christ hath redeemed us (made us free) from the curse of the law.”

An example of this is found in Judges 15:14. “…and the Spirit of the Lord came mightily upon him (Samson) and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands.” The holy fire of God’s Spirit has burned off the cords and bands of sin which held us in bondage. God setteth the solitary in families: he bringeth out those which are bound with chains: but the rebellious dwell in a dry land. (Psalm 68:6)

Satan and all his demons thought they had won as nails bound the feet and hands of Jesus to the cross. But they didn’t know that as those nails were binding Jesus, they were purchasing eternal freedom for all who want it.

The conditions in both our nation and the world are pointing to one thing: the return of Jesus! I am closing the month’s letter with a prophecy the Lord gave in our church last year that I believe you may find very interesting.

Time Is Compressing

Hear what I would say to you this night.  I am God; I sit on the throne of eternity. I know the beginning from the end. I am God and I saw the beginning of humanity and I have already seen the end.  I know what has happened, I know what is happening and I know what will happen. There is great joy in my heart because the hour is near when you will be with me for all eternity.  There is also great sadness, because I know the great hardship that is preparing to fall upon this world. I know what is going to happen. I already know those in my church who are going to turn their backs on me and walk away and leave me for all eternity.

And I would have you know that this upcoming election is going to play a vital role in some turning their backs on me for all eternity.  You need to know this.  You see this as an election, but I tell you this night it is a pivotal point in human history and this is something that my church has failed to grasp. This is not just another election.  What you are seeing is a culmination of righteousness versus evil in a level of warfare heretofore never seen on this planet.

The days are short. There are many of you who have asked, and repeated constantly, how it seems like time is going by faster and faster.  Hear what I have to say to you: it is going faster and faster.  The realm of eternity and the realm of the spirit are compressing time. Your science cannot measure this because this compression is taking place at all levels. Every part of natural creation is being impacted by this; that is why, from the natural perspective of your science, nothing has changed; and yet something on the inside of man is saying things are changing.  This is because your spirit is detecting this compression of time. 

Now hear me, because the days are numbered and I have revealed this in my book.  This compression of time must take place.  There are those who will not receive this.  There are those who will cry out, “Prove to me scientifically how this is true!”  And I would say unto you, I am God, I am the one who created the universe, I am not bound by it.  And if I tell you that these things are happening in the realm of the spirit, they are happening.  You'll study my word and you will see that this is true.  Things are going by faster. 

There is a culmination of events that is taking place.  And you need to mark my word, there are those in my church who have taken a very casual attitude toward their walk with me.  I know who they are and I know their hearts.  And I'm telling you, if you want to be serious with me, this is the time to do it; for your time is short. Hear me: I already see the end of humanity as recorded in my word.  If I did not see it I could not have given it to my prophets to prophesy it. I see it. I am calling you to a place of accountability in me.

You are not to worry about what others do. You are not to worry about what is happening in other churches. You are not to worry about what other preachers and ministers and those who call themselves apostles and prophets are doing. Your concern and your interest must be in your relationship with me. So I have called all to come unto me; that call concerns you as an individual more than anyone else because you are not responsible for anyone else. 

You need to know that there are many people who have walked through the doors of this building, experienced my presence and I have spoken to them about what they are supposed to do for me and how I will minister to them, and they have rejected it and they have walked out.  There are those who have taken a very casual attitude toward what I am doing in your midst in this place.  Too many are looking at the outward, too many are looking at the physical, too many are looking at the numbers and they're not looking with spiritual eyes and seeing what I am doing.

And I'm telling you, the tension in the realm of the spirit is increasing, and that tension is spilling over into your natural world. In the days to come you are going to see more and more natural disasters.  Some are not going to be very severe, others will be severe.  It is because in the realm of the spirit, time is being compressed and evil is rising up for its last stand.  And this has been revealed in my word and I say unto you, take heart to what I'm doing.  Take heart to what I am sharing with you.  Take seriously when I tell you that the days are short. You are living in the final hour of this world. There are those who look at their clock and begin to measure the minutes when I say that you're living in the final hour. I am saying that time is drawing to a close.

So prepare yourself spiritually because along with all of these other things, there is going to be an unbelievable outpouring of my glory and my power and my anointing.  This world is going to be shaken by a mighty move of my spirit. I will use you in this because many millions are going to be swept into my kingdom as a result.  So come to me and let me use you; let me work in you to prepare you - prepare you as a vessel unto glory, and I will use you in mighty ways.  Keep your focus on me. Yes, you should pray for those around you and pray for your family, but keep your focus on me.  Do not let your friends and loved ones divert your attention away from me: remember Lots wife.  So take what I am saying to you this night, take it seriously, and know that the power of my love will see you through anything that arises in this world. I will be your shield. I will be your defender.
